Ectoin
Introduction

Ectoin, is an cyclic amino acid derivative obtained through Freda’s specialized fermentation technology. As an important substance for microorganism to survive in extreme environments, ectoin can effectively bind the surrounding water molecules and form a protective layer on the surface of cell membrane, to fully protect intracellular substance from UV light and high temperature etc. Ectoin has remarkable moisturizing, soothing and repairing effects, and is widely used in various cosmetic formulations.

Basic Information

INCI Name: 4-Pyrimidinecarboxylic Acid

CAS No.: 96702-03-3

Appearance: White or white like powder or granules

Assay: ≥98%

Efficacy

*Moisturizing effect

With strong electronegativity, ectoin molecules can promote the association of water molecules in the skin to form a Kosmostropic effect structure, which helps to strengthen the water structure.

*Soothing effect

Langerhans cells are the important cells to maintain the normal immune tolerance of skin cells. Ectoin can protect langerhans cells against extrernal damage, enhance cell activity and inhibit the release of inflammatory factors, so as to soothe skin cells from external stimuli.

*Repairing effect

Ectoin has a repairing effect on the damage caused by UV: the higher the concentration, the stronger the repairing effect.
